Brandon “Fischer” Christopher Jex
July 23, 1982 — April 12, 2025
Fischer was the coordinator of the GLQO Boat Wash at Prairieville Township Park for the past three years, and his passion for natural resources allowed us to greatly expand GLQO outreach activities there. His nickname “Fischer” reflected his lifelong passion for woods, wildlife, and especially water.
To honor Fischer’s passion for protecting our natural resources, particularly lakes and streams, in July, the GLQO will plant a native Serviceberry tree adjacent to the boat wash shed at Prairieville Township Park on Gull Lake. A Serviceberry is a fitting tribute to Fischer as its flowers provide food for pollinators, its fruits are edible and fed on by many bird species, and its foliage is beautiful throughout the summer and fall.
